　　在早年的《超人》系列中，拍摄超人的飞行镜头主要是依靠四十年前发明的“伪装镜头”技术：首先是将超人要飞行经过的移动背景拍摄好，之后将影像投射到大银幕上，接着让“超人”在银幕前摆出各种飞行时的动作，便形成了超人腾空的景象。但随着时间的流逝、电影技术的不断更新以及观众日渐抬高的眼球。如今，2006年的超人将伴随着全新的技术和构思以全新的姿态出现在人们面前。固然，新超人的“飞行计划”无疑是人们期待的重头戏之一。
　　吊钢丝成了新超人飞行的第一步，而此时的牵引设备也已经换成了更为先进的可调节式的起吊器，并且只要设置好速度，超人便可以以所需的不同速度升空。而摄影机则固定在钢架上一个可以活动的机械臂协助超人完成在空中转身腾跃等难度的动作。倘若在做出360度旋转动作时，就不得不要请出更先进的旋转仪设备。它就像一个大型的地球仪支架，可以将演员固定在支架上，如万向轮一般做出不同角度的旋转动作，配合事先编排好的动作，摄影师便可以轻松地完成旋转镜头的拍摄了。另外，值得一提的是，旋转仪在拍摄时也要被涂成绿幕一般的绿色，自然是为后期处理时被计算机在银幕中挖掉而用的。说到计算机，CGI技术自然也成了为超人服务的最好工具，《超人归来》在很大程度上同其他同类影片一样，依靠计算机成像技术来完成许多常规拍摄所无法达到的效果。例如，超人鸟瞰地球、急速升空、与恶人搏斗等等，都需要CGI技术来完成。此外，导演布赖恩·辛格还动用了两架由计算机控制的空中摄影机取高空纵览城市街景和两架小型直升机用于航拍等，可谓是耗尽血本……
